Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is a glorious and global festival which is celebrated by people, especially, youngsters.It is the day of love and romance. It comes on the 14th of February every year and it is celebrated across the worldwide such as U.K., U.S., India, Britain, France, Australia, Italy etc. Different countries celebrate it with different traditions.

The story of how this tradition started goes way back in history to the third century when Saint Valentine was martyred because he would not give up his Christian religion. He sent a farewell note to his friend, his jailer’s daughter to be exact, and signed it “From your Valentine”. A few centuries later, the date became the day on which Christians honored this saint as St. Valentine’s Day.

Nowadays,Valentine’s Day is always associated with sweet treats such as chocolate 、candy 、Cupids、flowers or candies.The first time in the history of Valentines Day that love and lovers are actually associated with the day is during the Middle Ages in a poem by Geoffrey Chaucer. After the famous writer mentioned the two love birds that represented the engagement of the young king Richard II to his young bride to be, Anne of Bohemia.Each country had its own traditions. In England, children dressed in adult clothing and went from home to home singing short love songs. In Wales, the tradition was to give gifts of wooden spoons decorated with hearts. Keys and keyholes became popular decorations meaning that the key would unlock one’s heart.

Christmas is an annual festival celebrated on December 25 that commemorates the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. Halloween

Halloween is full of costumes and candy, trick-or-treating and terrifying haunted houses, pumpkins and black cats.Halloween is one of the most popular festivals throughout the Western world. The festival’s origin lies in the middle ages. It became an almost ritualistic fest for people. At that time, much of the “spookiness” of the holiday was removed and a sense of community and fun were added. So, Halloween is termed as one of the global sensations every year.

Although scary themes are still the focus of many Halloween celebrations, that scariness is done for fun, not because of actual fear.so you can dress up as any of the famous characters from novels and myths. A crowd favorite is the avatar of Count Dracula. This character and other vamps are known for their evil eyes and their fanged teeth. So, it is easy to dress up as this character. You can wear some fake sharp teeth and a blue cape over your neck. Then, you can also dress up as Frankenstein. You can put up a yellow skin mask to look that hideous and scary.

Halloween’s origins are found in the Celtic festival of Samhain. The Celts, who were located in Ireland, the UK and the northern parts of France, celebrated their New Year on the first of November. Samhain was celebrated the night before the New Year.
